Design highlights include a split front grille, dual-beam headlamps with DRLs, a crossover-like profile, and split tail lamps.
Features an 8-inch infotainment system, 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, seats with memory foam, and a foot-operated electric tailgate.
A locally assembled 177PS/400Nm 2.0-litre diesel engine will power the SUV, paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
It will also feature Citroen’s Progressive Hydraulic Cushion equipped suspension system for that ‘flying carpet’ effect over bumps.
Set to launch by March at a possible starting price of Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom).
It will take on the upcoming Volkswagen Tiguan facelift.
With the Citroen C5 Aircross set to debut on February 1, the carmaker has officially commenced production of the SUV and rolled out the first unit from its manufacturing plant in Thiruvallur, Tamil Nadu. The C5 Aircross will be Citroen’s first model for India.
The C5 Aircross sports a crossover-like profile with notable styling bits such as a split front grille, dual-beam headlamps with DRLs, and an upright rear end with split LED tail lamps.
The premium midsize SUV will have a long list of features including a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, phone mirroring, engine stop-start function, seats with memory foam, three individually adjustable, reclining and modular rear seats, panoramic sunroof (top-spec variant), and a foot-operated electric tailgate. It will also come equipped with blind spot monitoring and park assist.
Citroen has confirmed that it’ll be powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine that makes 177PS of power and 400Nm of twist overseas. The engine will be paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission with shift and park by wire control to aid efficiency. Citroen’s well-known Progressive Hydraulic Cushion equipped suspension system will also be offered in the C5 Aircross to provide what Citroen calls ‘flying carpet effect’ to cushion discomforts from road bumps. A nifty feature for our Indian roads.
Citroen will launch the C5 Aircross SUV by March at a possible starting price of Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom). Ahead of its launch, Citroen has also set up its first showroom in India based on its global ‘La Maison Citroen’ concept that will also house an after-sales service workshop and a test-drive fleet after the C5 Aircross is launched. It will go up against the upcoming facelifted Volkswagen Tiguan.
