Almost two years running, the Force One has appealed to a sizeable portion of the premium SUV market in India, owing to its abundance of seating for as many as seven passengers in comfort and other creature comforts like a steering mounted audio, cruise and Bluetooth connectivity controls will come standard with electrically foldable mirrors as well.
Its pricing of Rs 10.65 lakhs (ex-showroom) for the 2WD SX variant announced at the time of launch back in 2011 has perhaps limited its reach to potential customers with a shoestring budget. To tap a larger customer base, Force has just introduced an entry-level EX variant to its Force One model offering at a price of Rs 8.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
The base variant is powered by a 2596cc 4-cylinder direct injection turbo charged intercooler engine and is mated to a G-32 five-speed manual gearbox. It produces 82PS@ 3200 rpm and 230Nm of torque @ 1800-2000 rpm. Though underpowered as compared to SX version, the EX is the more affordable of the Force One variants currently on sale, and would be an ideal choice for the fleet and taxi market. Features on the base variant are limited to power steering, front fog lamps, A/C, central locking and steel wheels. Also Read: Force Gurkha First Drive
The higher spec SX model has four trims based on its safety features and total seating capacity. Powered by a 2.2 liter FMTech Daimler engine putting out 141 PS at 3800 rpm, and a massive 321 Nm at 1600 rpm, this mid-variant starts from a price of Rs 11.70 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) all the way up to Rs 12.06 lakh (ex-showroom) for the 6-seater with an ABS system.
It doesn’t just end there. Force Motors is also planning to launch a top-spec 4WD model, called the LX in the coming months. Besides being the only variant in the entire Force One range to feature a shift-on-the fly 4WD system with a limited slip differential, the LX once launched will pack all the features that were available in the previous top-end 2WD trim such as daytime running lamps, rear parking sensors, wing mirrors with integrated turn indicators, 16-inch alloys with all terrain tyres, 2DIN audio system with Bluetooth and steering mounted controls, leather seats, ABS and EBD, remote keyless entry and cruise control. Prices for the 4WD LX variant are yet to be declared.
Model Variant Price:
EX 6+D - Rs 8,99,000*
SX 5+D - Rs 11,78,059*
SX 6+D - Rs 11,70,482*
SX with ABS 5+D - Rs 12,06,374*
SX with ABS 6+D - Rs 11,98,875*
All prices are Ex-showroom*
