Ford India has always been active in the price war game. While every carmaker is busy hiking the prices of their offerings in India, Ford has gone ahead and silently decreased the prices of the Endeavour by up to Rs 2.82 lakh. While the American carmaker is readying itself to face the heat from its highly-anticipated competitor – the new Toyota Fortuner, the price slash strategy also works well with the upcoming festive period.
The latest revision of the price list makes the Endeavour an even more enticing recipe. Three out of the six variants get a price cut. The 2.2 Trend 4x2 Automatic and the 3.2 Trend 4x4 Automatic get a price cut by Rs 1.72 lakh, and now cost Rs 23.78 lakh and Rs 25.93 lakh respectively. The 2.2 Trend 4x4 Manual however gets a price cut by a healthy Rs 2.82 lakh and now costs Rs 23.78 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom Delhi).
It is staggering how Ford has managed to voluntarily revise the price list of a car twice, since it was launched just a few months back. In August, Ford India hiked prices of the Endeavour across all its variants. This news came in just two days after the American car firm slashed prices of the its Figo hatchback and the Figo Aspire sedan.
Ford hasn’t skimped on equipment levels inside the Endeavour. Features like disc brakes on all 4 wheels, ESP, TC, hill assist, ABS+EBD, dual airbags and Ford’s MyKey are standard across all variants. The Titanium variants get more safety and security features like side, curtain and knee airbags, along with a burglar alarm.
So there you have it. If you have been saving money to buy a big SUV within the Rs 30 lakh range, the Endeavour is your answer. While Toyota is readying itself to launch its new Fortuner to compete with the Endeavour, it won’t be easy for the Japanese carmaker to beat the American auto firm on value for money proposition.
