After slashing prices for the Figo and the Figo Aspire, Ford announces price hike for the Endeavour.

Two days ago, Ford slashed the prices for its hatchback, the Figo, by up to Rs 50,000, and for the compact sedan, the Figo Aspire, by up to Rs 91,000. This move of slashing the prices of its two least expensive offerings came just after the market leaders Maruti and Hyundai hiked the prices of their offerings in the Indian market. That said, the new-gen Figo has been struggling to match the sales numbers benchmark set by its predecessor.

Now the American automotive giant has announced a price hike for its latest offering, the big seven-seater Endeavour, which was launched this January and wowed the customers with its looks and features. It is offered with two engine options (both turbocharged) -- a 2.2-litre diesel that churns out 160PS of power and 385Nm of torque, and a 3.2-litre diesel that develops 200PS of power and a massive 470Nm of torque.

With the revised price list, the Endeavour now starts at Rs 26.18 lakh compared to the Rs 24.75 lakh (both prices ex-showroom, Mumbai) when launched. The complete comparison is given below:

With the new Toyota Fortuner being spotted testing lately, it will surely launch in the Indian market soon. The asking price for the Japanese SUV will be a key factor for Ford’s success as the Fortuner has been ruling the segment since its launch.
