Ford to unveil new Fiesta on 5th Feb

Ford India will unveil its new compact car concept today but that's not where its Auto Expo plans end. Besides, showcasing mildly updated or 2014 edition versions of its entire existing range, Ford will also launch the new Fiesta on the 5th of February.

The Fiesta, since it's launch never sold well even though it was one of the better equipped and driver focused cars in its class. However, it was short on space and its pricing was a little optimistic as well. 

The interior room isn't expected to change on the facelift, and we believe it will continue to be a good car to drive, but apart from new lamps, and grille and revised bumpers, the new Fiesta's price will see a correction as well. Given the success that Ford has seen with its products like the Figo and the EcoSport by just getting the pricing right, we expect Ford to use the same formula for the updated Fiesta as well.

The engine and gearbox options will remain unchanged. The Fiesta will continue to come with the 1.5-litre petrol and the 1.5-litre diesel from the current car and it will also get the dual clutch automatic in addition to a 5-speed manual.t eh latter will be available on both the petrol and diesel versions but the automatic will continue to be reserved for the petrol courtesy high pricing.

Deliveries of the new Fiesta are expected to begin soon after its expo launch.
