Ford has revealed the Ka Trail – a crossover version of the Ford Figo– at the ongoing 2016 Sao Paulo International Motor Show in Brazil. For the uninitiated, the second-gen Figo will be acknowledged as the 'Ka' in the Brazilian and the 'Ka+' in European markets. Like all other cross hatchbacks, the Ka Trail is quite a sturdy looking version of the stock hot hatch (Ford Figo). The new car will go on sale in the Brazilian market in early 2017.
If the car makes it to Indian shores, it might retain the current set of powertrains, i.e., a 1.2-litre petrol engine with a power output of 71 PS and a 1.4-litre oil burner.
Here is the list of changes that Ford has to offer with the new offering – customary wheel arch, more ground clearance than the regular Figo, front and rear bumpers with faux silver skid plates, black side mirrors, and 15-inch alloy wheels with grey highlights. It also features orange and grey vinyl decals on the sides and at the rear, and a black grille.
Speaking of the interiors, the Ka Trail comes with fabric plus leather upholstery with contrasting stitching in orange and green. It also features sporty pedals and door sill plates with the ‘Trail’ logo embossed on them.
Though the American automaker has not confirmed the news, the company is likely to bring the Ka Trail to India since many cross hatches already have a steady market in the country.
