It might look like just a souped up E60 M5, but one look at the specs and under the hood will make you realize this E60 is like no other. This light blue G-POWER M5 Hurricane RRs is equipped with a reworked version of the high-revving V10 engine modified by G-Power and supercharged by a BI-Kompressor Sporty Drive system. Therefore the two superchargers named ASA T1-313 have been replaced by larger ASA T1-316 units. They are both driven by a belt and do provide each cylinder bank with supercharged air. Further down the line the pre-compressed air from the superchargers is cooled for a maximum power output. A complicated aluminium casting - painted in G-Power orange - replaces the standard air box on top of the engine, and its direct inlet is responsible for the spontaneous response characteristics which give the G-Power motor its incomparable response and also much more torque.
So what does all that mumbo-jumbo translate to? Well the numbers are nothing short of a shocker. 830 PS between 7500 – 8000 rpm and a monstrous torque of 780 Nm at 6,500 rpm. On the road, when the pedal meets the carpet, this G-Power M5 will complete the 100 km/h run in 4.3 seconds flat, the 0-200 in 9.1 seconds and the 0-300 in an unbelievable 25.2 seconds. Two tons of weight and a top speed of more than 370 km/h naturally ask a lot from the tires. The Michelin Pilot Sport tires make sure all the power is put down with confidence. 255/35 ZR 19 at the front and 305/30 ZR 19 at the rear is a lot of rubber for a car which looks like your average family sedan.
Even more contributions to the Hurricane RRs’s high-speed talents come from a height-adjustable G-Power RS coil over suspension that is adjustable for both compression and rebound in nine settings and the high-performance G-Power brake system with up to six brake pistons and up to 396 mm brake disc diameter for the front axle and 380 mm for the rear axle. The G-Power brake system enables a substantially higher brake force than the standard brake system. At the same time, the heat generated due to the braking process can be dissipated more effectively. The G-Power brake package is completed by brake pads with a larger pad area, higher friction rate as well as metal-coated brake lines.
So if ever you think of buying a car that can keep up or even embarrass most sportscars with a family of five in it, don’t forget to look up the G-Power website. You might just find what you need!
