Gautam Singhania scores twin podiums at Ferrari Challenge EU

Noted industrialist Gautam Singhania will participate in the Ferrari Challenge Europe Championship 2015. Singhania will be the first Indian driver to participate in the prestigious Ferrari event. The first race of the Ferrari Challenge Europe Championship 2015 will be held this weekend at the iconic Monza race track in Italy. The entire season comprising in total of 15 races with two races a weekend are scheduled at Imola, Mugello, Le Castellet, Valencia and Budapest. The world finals which will consist of three races will see participants from the Asian and American round of the Ferrari Challenge Championship competing against each other.
Singhania had also scored a podium finish at Yas Marina in the Coppa Shell EU Race 2 category becoming the first Indian driver to do so. This year, Gautam Singhania has a different team and will race with the renowned Swiss Team named Kessel Racing that has registered numerous wins and an exhaustive experience under its belt. He has also signed up current GT driver and former F1 driver Andrea Motermini who will be his coach for the 2015 season. He also showcased his Indian tri-colour inspired livery for the 2015 season. Gautam Hari Singhania, Chairman and Managing Director, Raymond Limited is a self proclaimed petrolhead with a penchant for supercars and has a great collection of Ferrari, Lamborghini and other high performance cars as part of his stable. He is also the Founder Chairman of the Super Car Club that organises the annual supercar rally in Mumbai every year which is among the most popular events in the city.
Speaking about the forthcoming series, Gautam Hari Singhania, Chairman & Managing Director, Raymond Limited said, “I am extremely thrilled to participate in the forthcoming full season championship and fully focused on the task at hand. It was a proud moment for me last year to get a podium finish in Abu Dhabi.” He further added, “I have decided to race with Kessel Racing as it is a bigger team and their support could be much more valuable. With my recent racing success and steady improvement, this was the next logical step. I have also signed up with Andrea as my new coach and hope to benefit from his extensive racing experience. I am looking forward to some great racing weekends this year and have set my sights on the Championship and World Finals 2015.”
