Ducati has just released its revised pricing post-GST (Goods & Services Tax) and the prices released will be the same pan-India. The pricing has come across as a mixed bag of surprises as some models have benefited from the new taxation, while others have received a price hike. So let's find out whether your favourite Bolognian motorcycle has become more affordable or not.
As per the report received, Ducati's most affordable models, the Scrambler and the Monster 797, have received a price hike, which is a bit of a downer. The Scrambler series is now Rs 20,636 costlier in Pune, whereas the Monster 797 has become dearer by Rs 28,000 in Delhi and Rs 18,544 in Pune.
The other two models in the popular Monster series include the Monster 1200 and the 1200S. The Monster 1200 is now dearer by Rs 68,000 in Delhi, while the Pune pricing has gone down by Rs 8334. The Monster 1200S though has received the highest peak in price, as it is now Rs 2,11,000 more expensive in Delhi. However, the same model has received a price benefit of Rs 14,762 in Pune.
Moving on to the Diavel range, in Delhi the series receives a price bump of Rs 18,000 on the Diesel version, while the XDiavel gets a price drop of Rs 14,000 and the XDiavel S gets a benefit of Rs 18,000.
On the other hand, the 959 Panigale has received a price benefit of Rs 15,000 in Delhi. The price benefit in Delhi also continues on to the Hypermotard and Hyperstrada 939, as both receive a benefit of Rs 21,000 and Rs 32,000 respectively.
We are yet to receive all the pre-GST ex-showroom Pune prices. But judging from what we have here, it seems the affordable models have seen a price hike, whereas the more expensive models seem to have benefited from GST.
It is also worth noting that the price differences vary a lot and this all boils down to the variation in initial taxes, which included VAT, octroi and transport charges that differed from city to city.
Customers are expected to shell out a lot more money for the bikes though, as RTO and insurance charges have increased in most states.
