Hero MotoCorp in collaboration with Rollr, a Noida-based vehicular GPS tracking company, has developed a Bluetooth connectivity system for the Hero Destini 125, Pleasure Plus, and XPulse 200. The system is available on all three two-wheelers as an optional extra for an added cost of Rs 4,999. You can either purchase the Bluetooth system via Hero’s online store or visit your nearest authorised dealership to get one.
The Hero Connect can store data of up to three days. Thanks to its built-in antenna, the company can even push out firmware upgrades over the air to improve the system over time. The system opens up a range of features for customers, including tracking the vehicle, its true speed, and direction in real time. It can also send out an SMS notification to your near and dear one in case of an accident.
Interestingly, the system is capable of detecting unauthorised movement or towing and can immediately notify the owner via an SMS. Apart from this, owners can access the vehicle’s last parked location, riding pattern and trip analysis, with geo-fencing alert for up to six months.
Hero is the last two-wheeler manufacturer to introduce Bluetooth connectivity for its products. However, a price of almost Rs 5,000 is a little hard to justify considering the system doesn’t include turn-by-turn navigation -- an essential feature these days. The Hero Connect is currently confined to the Destini 125, Pleasure Plus and XPulse 200, but we hope it’ll be available for the rest of the lineup pretty soon.
