Hero MotoCorp is set to launch two new scooters on May 13 -- the 2019 Hero Pleasure and the Hero Maestro Edge 125. Out of the two, the Maestro Edge 125 could become the first fuel-injected scooter in India.

The more sophisticated fuelling system will not only help the 125cc engine comply with upcoming BS 6 emission norms but will also create a clear distinction between the Maestro Edge and the Destini 125. Not to mention, fuel injection also has some distinct advantages over a conventional carburettor system. This includes better fuel efficiency and throttle response. With both Fi and i3S (Idle Stop-Start System), we expect the upcoming Maestro Edge to be frugal than its rivals.

The Maestro Edge 125 was first unveiled alongside the Destini 125 (then called the Duet 125) at the 2018 Auto Expo. While the Destini 125 packs a more family-friendly design, the Maestro Edge 125 is targeted towards the youth with its sporty looks and a wide range of colours.

Powering the Maestro Edge 125 is likely to be the same 124.6cc, single-cylinder engine as the Destini 125. It makes 8.8PS of power and 10.2Nm of torque. However, we expect the motor to be offered in a different state of tune and feature updates to meet BS 6 regulations. Not to forget, the Maestro will also get a front disc brake option. For all the updates, expect a premium of Rs 5,000 to Rs 6,000 over the Destini 125.

As mentioned earlier, Hero will also be introducing the 2019 Pleasure on Monday. And yes, the updates on that one are quite comprehensive. More on that here - New Hero Pleasure Facelift Spotted
