Hero took the help of technology the ever popular Splendor an update with the help of i3S (idle Start Stop System) last year. The Hero Splendor iSmart has been well received by the consumers and has clocked good sales figure. The start/stop system also enabled the Hero Splendor iSmart hike up its fuel efficiency figure to an astounding 102.5kmpl as claimed by the manufacturer. Now it seems that the largest two-wheeler manufacturer is planning to expand the i3S system across its product portfolio. The latest member to get equipped with the start/stop system is the Hero Super Splendor 125cc offering. The new Super Splendor iSmart will be showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo and make its debut by March 2016.

Hero wouldn’t be stopping itself only on the mechanical front and expect the new Super Splendor iSmart to undergo cosmetic changes. Expect the body lines to be sleeker and sporty with restyled graphics on the lines of the Splendor iSmart. The instrument console will be a new three-pod unit with a i3S light and side stand indicator being new additions. The powerplant wouldn’t be most likely tinkered with and the 124.7cc unit churns out 9.12PS of power and 10.35Nm of peak torque mated to a 4-speed gearbox. The start/stop system should make the Super Splendor even more fuel efficient with a claimed mileage of around 85kmpl that should make it the most fuel efficient 125cc motorcycle on sale in the country. Expect the new Hero Super Splendor iSmart to be priced around a premium of Rs 3,000 higher than the standard variant.
