After the new Activa 125 and the SP 125, Honda is all set to add another BS6-compliant two-wheeler to its portfolio. The Japanese bike maker is likely to launch the Activa 6G on January 15. As of now, there’s no word on the price, but expect the updated model to be around 10-15 per cent more expensive than the current-gen model, which retails at Rs 55,934 (ex-showroom).
Expect the upcoming Activa 6G to get an updated design language with some new features. Now, according to some reports, Honda might equip the new Activa 6G with a digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, an external fuel filler cap, telescopic forks and 12-inch wheels. However, nothing is confirmed until Honda takes the wraps off the scooter.
The current Activa 5G is powered by a 109.19cc air-cooled motor, which produces 7.96PS of power and 9Nm of torque. But we expect the new fuel-injected motor to have slightly different power and torque output. The fuel efficiency numbers are likely to go up as well.
With this, Honda is all set to give its highest-selling scooter the most comprehensive update ever. And this might be the perfect timing as TVS has just launched the BS6-compliant Jupiter, which, we all know, is quite popular in the 110cc segment. So, all we have to do is wait until January 15 to get our answers. Stay tuned to ZigWheels for all the updates.
