Post Honda decided to increase the output by adding an extra shift at its Greater Noida plant for its hot selling entry-level sedan-the Amaze from November 2013, the backlog and delivery period for this sedan seem to have come down.
This decision was taken back in July 2013 when a little over three months had passed since the sub-four-metre sedan had launched and already racked up some amazing sales figures. Sales for May and June'13 stood at a combined 11,001 units.
Honda Amaze was launched in April but the carmaker dispatched 7,598 Amaze saloons alone in the month of November 2013; making a figure that comprised the majority of Honda's sales for the month. And now, after Honda has introduced an additional shift at its Greater Noida facility November onwards, the compact saloon's waiting period has dropped from three to four months to just five to seven working days for both the petrol and diesel variants.
The Amaze is also readily available in most colours in both petrol and diesel variants barring the base E and EX models (petrol and diesel), which still seem to have a slightly longer waiting period of 15-20 working days.
Priced in the range of Rs. 4.99 lakh to Rs. 7.66 lakh; the Honda Amaze makes for an amazing package for those wanting to buy an entry-level sedan. Not only is the car fuel efficient (18kmpl-for petrol manual; 15.5kmpl-for petrol automatic; and 25.8kmpl-for diesel manual) and spacious but is also a tough competitor to cars like Maruti Suzuki New Swift Dzire, Chevrolet Sail, Ford Fiesta Classic and Fiat Linea Classic.
