The Honda CB Hornet 160R has been a successful product for Honda ever since its launch in December last year. Based on the Unicorn 160, the new motorcycle was focussed more towards the young buyers with its sharp and sporty styling. To cash in further on this positive trend, Honda has launched special edition of the CB Hornet 160R. The special edition models will be available in dual-tone shades of Striking Green and Mars Orange. The Honda CB Hornet 160R special edition also gets new graphics on tank and also gets rim tape to distinguish themselves from the stock model. The special edition variant carries a Rs 1,000 premium over the normal model and has been priced at Rs 81,413 for the standard variant while the CBS version has been priced at Rs 85,912 (prices ex-showroom Delhi).
Apart from the cosmetic updated no changes have been made on the mechanical front. The 162.7cc air-cooled motor churns out 15.9PS of max power with peak torque rating of 14.8Nm and is BS IV emission norm compliant. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel by a 5-speed gearbox. The Honda CB Hornet 160R is the first locally manufactured Honda motorcycle to offer petal disc brakes while CBS (Combined Brake System) is an optional extra. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic front forks and a monoshock unit at the back. Honda has also applied its patented HET (Honda Eco Technology) on the new CB Hornet 160R.
