Honda has unveiled its latest adventure tourer motorcycle, the CB190X in China. The Honda CB190X is among the smallest adventure tourer bikes in the Japanese two-wheeler giant’s portfolio. The new motorcycle is based on the Honda CB190R streetbike which has been on sale in China for quite sometime. The Honda CB190X, in terms of styling, is a typical adventure tourer with a large windscreen, beakish mudguard, handguard and bash plates. The long travel suspension at front gives it the quintessential adventure tourer stance. While the streetbike employs USD forks, the CB190X gets telescopic front forks. The new Honda motorcycle also features an aluminium rear rack which has mounts for fitting panniers. Also Read - Honda Africa Twin First Ride Review
The bike is powered by the same 184cc, air-cooled and fuel-injected single-cylinder motor, as seen on the CB190R, which develops 15.9PS at 8,000rpm, mated to a five-speed gearbox, and 15Nm of torque is made available at 7,000rpm. The bike rides on road-biased tyres and alloy wheels, signifying its intention of favouring tarmac over gravel. Honda has no plans to get the CB190X to India but there is some hope for Indian bikers. It is rumoured that Honda India is working on a sub-200cc adventure tourer for our two-wheeler market.
We are hoping that Honda India takes cue from its Chinese counterpart and launch an adventure-tourer bike based on the Honda CB Hornet 160R, which is already a popular bike in the 160cc motorcycle segment. Now imagine Honda plonking a long travel suspension and few cosmetic modifications on similar lines of the CB190X and we could be looking at the cheapest adventure-tourer bike on sale in India!
