The internet has been going gaga over the new Honda CBR150R, and rightly so. The small capacity fully faired sports bike from Honda has taken a quantum leap in aesthetics and hardware from its earlier avatar. While we usually get to see MotoGP editions of such bikes a few months into their existence, one Indonesian wrap artist couldn’t wait for long.
Artist Motoblast has unveiled a new wrap for the bike, but his MotoGP edition is something very, very special. He has used the colours from the legendary Aussie 500cc champion Mick Doohan’s title-winning NSR500. The dark blue shade, the jagged-edged Repsol sticker, the font for the CBR badge, and obviously, the red colour ‘1’ sticker at the front are just like what you would find on the NSR500 that Doohan romped to five consecutive titles in the 1990s. The bike looks all the more special with the silver pillion seat cowl that bears the #1 badge and orange wheels, a distinct touch on all Repsol Honda machines.
Those interested in speccing out their CBR150Rs can avail of the entire wrap scheme. Motoblast has stated that this scheme is meant for the latest version of the Honda supersport and any older gen model as well, like the one sold in India between 2012 and 2017. We are not entirely sure if Honda would like to try its luck again with the bike in India, given that its main competitor -- the Yamaha R15 v3 -- still has a distinct edge in performance over it.
