The scooter market has seen a lot of flourishment over the coming years, as manufacturers come in with new and very potent scooters in order to get their share of the growing market. Honda, in that manner, has seen tremendous growth, with one of the highest scooter sales in India. The company had recently taken us by storm when they launched the one of a kind Honda Navi, and with that in mind, the company has once again attempted to revolutionise the scooter arena in India, this time though, by launching a new kid on the block, the ‘Honda Cliq’.
As unique as the name sounds, the scooter too, unveiled here today, looks unique and quite quirky. Built for a purpose, Honda aims at targeting those customers that look for a practical, convenient and value for money option, with more luggage carrying capacity. The Cliq is powered by the same four-stroke, air-cooled and carburetted, 109.19cc engine that powers the Navi, generating 8.03PS of power at 7000rpm, while 8.94Nm of peak torque is generated at 5500rpm.
Some of the feature highlights that make the Cliq a proper utilitarian are, a wide floorboard, a wide and long seat, an under seat storage with mobile charging, an additional load carrier and block tread tires. Honda has also offered Combi brake system as standard here.
Launched at Rs 42,499 (Ex-Showroom, Delhi), the Cliq is available in four colour options – red, black, blue and grey. The Cliq will be manufactured from Honda’s 2nd factory in Tapukara, Rajasthan, and starting with Rajasthan, it will go on sale across India, in a stage-wise process. To find out more about how this whacky looking Cliq rides, stay tuned as we bring you the first ride review soon.
