Honda seems to be on an updation spree for all of its scooters and motorcycles. It had recently updated the Activa-i (read news here) and has now launched the 2018 Aviator at a price of Rs 55,157 (ex-showroom Delhi). The 110cc scooter now gets an LED headlamp for better illumination. Honda has been updating its scooters with LED headlamps since the launch of the Grazia. Their best-selling scooter, the Activa 5G, and even the Honda Dio now get the LED treatment. Apart from this, the 2018 Aviator also gets a metal muffler protector for added durability. Also new are a hook on the front apron and a retractable hook below the rider’s seat.
The older version of the Aviator was available in four colours: Pearl Igneous Black, Matte Selene Silver Metallic, Rebel Red Metallic, Pearl Amazing White. The new one, though, gets a Pearl Spartan Red paint scheme instead of the Rebel Red Metallic colour. In terms of features, the Aviator retains the same analogue instrument cluster as before, a conventional bulb-type tail lamp and turn indicators, alloy wheels and mobile underseat charger.
Mechanically, the 2019 Aviator retains the same frame and 110cc engine from its predecessor. The 109.19cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder motor continues to produce 8.03PS of power and 8.94Nm of torque. The scooter gets a telescopic front and single hydraulic shock absorber at the rear. It gets 12-inch front and 10-inch rear alloy wheels shod with tubeless tyres. Braking is via 130mm drum brakes on both wheels with a 190mm front disc brake available as an option.
The 2019 Honda Aviator competes with the TVS Wego (Rs 53,433 ex-Delhi) and Yamaha Fascino (Rs 54,593 ex-Delhi).
