Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has launched a new 125cc motorcycle, called the Honda CB Shine SP in three variants, starting at Rs 59,900 (ex-showroom Delhi) for the base drum brake version.

The SP in the name stands for ''Special' - essentially it's a facelift of the existing Honda CB Shine with a new gearbox and some added features.

The Honda CB Shine SP is a premium offering from HMSI in the 125cc space, with stylish new design features and Honda's Combined Braking System. The new bike was first teased at the Honda RevFest event, and gets the premium treatment like new sporty styling, part digital, part analog instrument panel, muscular fuel tank, sporty bikini fairing and new multi-spoke alloy wheels.

"With over 43 lakh happy customers, the legacy of the Shine is undisputed. Though CB Shine enjoys 46 per cent market share, our plan is to further strengthen Honda's leadership position in the 125cc segment. We are extending the family with this pride and what we are showcasing today is the next step of this legacy - loaded with additional features making it very very special," said Y.S. Guleria, Senior Vice President - Sales & Marketing, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd.

Equipped with Honda’s patented HET technology, the new 125cc engine is claimed to return impressive fuel economy figures of around 65kmpl.

A sharp headlight with a visor on top lend an attractive look to the CB Shine SP. Overall, it's a pleasant looking motorcycle and digital-analog instrument console, dual tone side covers, as well as split alloy wheels with disc brakes add to the distinctiveness of the bike.
