With competition in the 125cc scooter segment heating up, every manufacturer is raising stakes to beat others. Not wanting to be left behind, Honda has updated its Activa 125 with a few nifty features for the current year. For the additional goodies, the company has also hiked the price of the Activa 125 to Rs 59,621 (ex-showroom Delhi), a premium of Rs 2,116.
For the additional money, Honda has updated the 2018 version of the Activa 125 with new LED headlamps, 4-in-1 lock with seat opener switch and a revised layout for the instrument cluster which features Eco speed indicator along with a Service Due indicator. The company had previously updated the Activa 5G and the 2018 Honda Dio with a similar set of features. It continues to carry forward existing features like a USB mobile charger (optional accessory) and a retractable hook.
In addition to this, the scooter now comes with black alloy wheels and a 3-step adjustable rear suspension. The top-spec variant also gets a chrome plated metal muffler protector. Other than that, the scooter remains unchanged both mechanically and cosmetically.
Powering the 2018 Activa 125 is the 124.9cc HET engine, which produces 8.5PS of power and 10.54Nm of torque. It also gets a new matte silver paint scheme along with existing colour options. The Activa 125 comes in three variants - Drum (Rs 59,621), Drum Alloy (Rs 61,558) and Disc (Rs 64,007) (all prices, ex-showroom Delhi). It will go up against the upcoming Hero Maestro 125, the Duet 125 and the Suzuki Access 125.
