Following in KTM’s footsteps, Husqvarna has updated the prices of the Vitpilen 250 and Svartpilen 250. Both bikes will now cost you a premium of over Rs 9,000, bringing their ex-showroom prices close to the Rs 2 lakh mark. That’s a steep price to pay considering these bikes haven’t changed one bit and don’t have anything extra to offer. We believe the new prices could be in the wake of the new financial year. Given below are the new prices along with the price difference compared to the previous fiscal year.
Husqvarna Models |
New Price (ex-showroom Delhi) |
Old Price (ex-showroom Delhi) |
Difference |
Svartpilen 250 |
Rs 1,98,669 |
Rs 1,89,568 |
Rs 9,101 |
Vitpilen 250 |
Rs 1,99,296 |
Rs 1,89,952 |
Rs 9,344 |
The Austrian and Swedish manufacturers aren’t the only two brands that have increased the prices of their products. Yamaha, Royal Enfield, Hero MotoCorp, and Honda too have released new prices for FY2021. Word has it that Husqvarna’s 125cc offerings are ready and could be brought to India as entry-level products. However, these premium motorcycles will be priced quite exorbitantly.
This just goes to show the upward price trajectory of the two-wheeler market. ICE-powered two-wheelers are only going to get more expensive from here on. These prices hurt even more when you take into account the fuel prices in India. Will people finally switch to electric mobility now? Let us know in the comments.
