Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has stated that it has received positive customer response for the Venue and Grand i10 Nios despite an overall sales slump in the market. First, the Venue overtook other cars in its segment to become the best-selling compact SUV. Then, the recently launched Grand i10 Nios trumped the Venue’s sales figures. Hyundai has now announced that the third edition of the Great India Drive has been flagged off from the Statue of Unity in Gujarat. The drive will cover 17 places of historical interest across the country. Our team at Zigwheels is part of the drive as well and is currently on its way to meet big cats at Gir in Gujarat and Ranthambore in Rajasthan.
The latest campaign by Hyundai claims to highlight India’s unity in diversity. “The 2019 Great India Drive will chart out a unique journey for 17 Urban Adventurers across 17 historic venues in India proving the strength and capabilities of VENUE on some of the most difficult and picturesque terrains of the country,” said S S Kim, the Managing Director and CEO of HMIL.
The Venue will visit key locations like the famous Khardung La and Kaza, and then move to the south toward Kanyakumari via Chennai and Puducherry. Historic spots include Sakya Tangyud monastery and Vivekananda Rock Memorial.
