Hyundai India has released a road safety awareness film aimed at motivating people to adhere to traffic rules. Done in collaboration with the Ministry of Road Transport, this film marks the inception of the second phase of Hyundai’s “Be The Better Guy” road safety initiative. The second phase will continue until the end of 2017.

Talking about the initiative, YK Koo, MD and CEO, Hyundai Motor India Ltd. said, “Hyundai is a responsible and caring brand globally. Through Safe Move – Road Safety Campaign; we want to spread the message of road safety and create strong awareness within communities for a positive Behavior Change. We want to make Safe Move – Road Safety Campaign a mass movement in India in association with Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and contribute by Big Impact activities towards making Hyundai a Life Time Partner of its customers.”

Talking about the film, it throws light on various day to day situations which can be dealt differently to avoid mishaps. Hyundai’s new campaign also draws attention towards various critical issues like underage driving, driving under the influence of alcohol, using mobile phones while driving, overspeeding and violation of traffic signal. The film features Hyundai’s brand ambassador Shahrukh Khan promoting road safety practices.

Hyundai has also said that under the campaign, it will also organise an offline activity at 150 schools in 15 cities and 14 Malls in 6 cities, along with cinema halls in top 20 cities. Hyundai claims that the first phase of the “Be The Better Guy” campaign was successful as it managed to garner more than 3.84 million views and won various awards from the Indian media.

We think campaigns like this will help in reducing the number casualties on Indian roads and other car manufacturers should also come forward and work towards the same cause.
