Hyundai has unveiled the N Line trim for the fourth-gen Tucson, which was launched in September 2020 in Europe.
The N Line will go on sale from spring 2021 onward.
It will be powered by petrol and petrol-hybrid powertrains.
It gets sporty upgrades both on the exterior and interior.
The fourth-gen Tucson is likely to arrive in India by 2022.
Rumour is Hyundai’s N Line cars could be introduced here in the near future
Hyundai has unveiled the fourth-gen Tucson’s N Line variant in Europe. The standard Tucson hauled in a bunch of design upgrades when it arrived in September 2020, making it more visually appealing. Now, the N Line variant will be the cherry on top, thanks to the sporty enhancements it brings.
The N Line variant sits lower and wider than the standard model. It features an updated version of the ‘geometric pattern’ design, a.k.a. parametric jewels on the enlarged grille, with edges that give off different reflections from different angles. Other additions to the front come in the form of a sportier bumper, black bezels around the headlamps, and larger air intakes that sit taller than in the standard Tucson. In profile, the N Line variant gets muscular lines, whereas the rear sees a diffuser, larger spoiler, and twin-tip muffler exhausts. Apart from the six standard colour options that come with the Tucson, the N Line variant gets an exclusive Shadow Grey shade with a dual-tone option.
Inside, an exclusive black interior is lined with red stitching on the upholstery, armrest, and door trim. The N badge-stamped elements line the interior from the seats to the gear lever knob, all the way to an N-specific steering wheel and metal pedals. The wraparound dash layout is retained from the standard version, and so is the list of features, which includes a touch-sensitive centre console, 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 10.25-inch tablet-style instrument cluster, connected car tech, a Bose sound system, and a sunroof. Safety features such as ABS with EBD, blind-spot view monitor, and electronic controlled suspension are also retained.
The N Line trim will be available for all variants of the Tucson except for the diesel-powered ones. This means it will get the 1.6-litre T-GDI turbo-petrol engine in different states of tune and multiple electrification options. The standard engine puts out 150PS and gets three other hybrid versions. These include a 180/150PS 48V mild hybrid engine, a 230PS hybrid engine, and a 265PS plug-in hybrid engine.
Hyundai has announced that the N Line trim will hit the European market in spring 2021, with the hybrid versions arriving by the summer. In India, we expect the fourth-gen Tucson to arrive by 2022. If rumours are anything to go by, Hyundai’s N Line models are set to arrive in India, and we hope this includes the Tucson N Line trim as well. With prices expected to start from Rs 23 lakh onwards, the 2022 Tucson will rival the Skoda Karoq, Jeep Compass, and the upcoming facelifted Volkswagen Tiguan.
