Hyundai Venue (previously known as Hyundai QXi) is a few weeks away from being unveiled. After an array of teasers and the name reveal, Hyundai has now confirmed that the Venue will be India’s first connected SUV. The Venue will get Hyundai’s BlueLink technology with 33 connected features to help the owner in the time of a mishap, distress, roadside assistance, tracking the vehicle or simply operating functions like the climate control remotely. Of these 33 features that have been introduced on the Venue, Hyundai claims that 10 of these are purely India-specific features. Before this release, the tag for India’s first connected SUV was reserved for the upcoming MG Hector SUV, which too will get a host of connected features. And while systems like Ford’s SYNC can also send emergency calls, the BlueLink can do a whole lot more.

The Hyundai Venue will feature an in-built and tamper-proof device which will house a Vodafone eSIM and a cloud-based voice recognition platform from Global AI Company. This sim card will enable GPS and GSM services in the car, allowing the SUV to be tracked and located in times of distress. Behind the IRVM, the Venue will feature SOS (Save Our Souls), Roadside Assistance and a BlueLink button for emergencies. This will also send out a message to the emergency contacts alerting them of the incident.
The Hyundai BlueLink safety feature also includes applications such as Automatic Crash Notification (ACN) and Assistance, Emergency Alerts, Medical and Panic Assistance, Geo-fence (which will send a text alert to the desired mobile number if the driver has left the pre-set geographical location or time), Stolen Vehicle Notification and Vehicle Immobilization.
The device will also allow the projection of real-time traffic navigation updates and Live Local Search on the infotainment system. Plus, it will allow the owner to remotely control the engine start/stop, climate control, door lock/unlock, horn and lights, and monitor vehicle status on a mobile application. Users will also able to push navigation data from the phone onto the vehicle infotainment system, or even ask Hyundai’s call centre to do it for you.
With these features, the Venue will surely be a class above the segment in terms of technology. But it does bring about the question of price. We expect the Hyundai Venue to be priced between Rs 7.5 lakh to Rs 11 lakh. For more information on the Venue’s features, check out the links below.
