Spy shots of the 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe facelift undergoing tests have surfaced on the web. The test mule was draped in a significant covering of poly vinyl, to hide its lines, while undergoing tests in Korea.
From the spy shots it appears that the upcoming new Santa Fe receives a chrome grille, revised front and rear bumpers, new LED front and rear lights, new alloy wheels and a new exhaust system as well.
Reports suggest that the 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe facelift will receive an e-4WD system. The petrol engine will power the front wheels, while the electric motor will power the rear axle of the car. A regenerative braking system will be added to enhance the efficiency of this SUV, suggest reports.
Currently, the Santa Fe is powered by a 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel engine which churns out 194PS of power and 421Nm of torque. This SUV is available with six-speed manual and automatic transmissions. The Hyundai Santa Fe is assembled at the carmaker’s manufacturing facility in Chennai.
The current Hyundai Santa Fe is priced at Rs 26.84 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Expect the next-generation Santa Fe to be priced between Rs 25 lakh and Rs 30 lakh in the country. The 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe is expected to be launched in Korea this year, and is speculated to come to the Indian shores in 2016. The 2016 Santa Fe will rival the Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner and Chevrolet Trailblazer.
