The third round of the MRF MMSC FMSCI Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship (INMRC) is ready to set the MMRT track on fire in Sriperumbudur, near Chennai, on Friday. The championship will host 22 races this weekend, with around 200 competition entries.
The three-day championship will comprise of three main race events – the Super Sports Indian (165cc and 300-400cc), Pro-Stock, and Stock 165. Other than these, spectators will also be able to witness three One Make championships from TVS (Apache RTR 200), Suzuki (the Gixxer Cup) and Honda (CBR 150 and 250).
Moreover, just like the previous round, this one will also see two support races in the Superbike (600-1000cc) category, along with two more races by Honda and Alisha Abdullah Racing Academy – meant only for women riders.
The most action is expected to follow from the top-end Super Sports Indian class since it has the most experienced riders, such as TVS Racing’s Jagan Kumar, Rajini Krishnan of RACR and Sarath Kumar of Ten10 Racing. The category includes a combined grid of 300-400cc motorcycles up to 165cc bikes.
In the above-mentioned category, Jagan heads the 165cc season ranking with an 18-point lead over RACR’s Deepak Ravikumar. Behind these two is TVS Racing’s Harry Silvester. However, Sarath Kumar, Rajini Krishnan, and K.Y. Ahmed aren’t far behind in the points chase.
In the Pro-Stock category, Hari Krishnan of Honda Ten10 heads the pack, thanks to his winning streak in all the four previous races that took place in the last two rounds. He is followed by RACR’s Dinesh Kumar and Honda Racing’s Rajiv Sethu, with only one point separating them.
Last but not least, the Stock 165cc class has Antony Peter of RMC Racing on the top of the leader board, with Anish Shetty of United Tech Torque Racing following closely behind.
