Indian Motorcycle has started accepting bookings for the Scout Bobber as its launch nears
undefined

The American bike maker Indian Motorcycle, owned by Polaris, is all set to launch the Indian Scout Bobber in India. With the launch just around the corner, dealerships have already started accepting bookings for Rs 50,000 and deliveries have already commenced with a current waiting period of 3 months.

Mated to a six-speed gearbox, the Scout Bobber too is powered by the same engine seen across the Indian Scout range - a 1133cc, liquid-cooled V-twin that produces 95PS of peak power, with a maximum torque of 97Nm.

The front suspension is carried over from the standard version of the Scout, while the rear dual shocks have a shorter travel of 50mm, in comparison to the standard version’s 76mm. As a result, the ground clearance has also gone down from 135mm to 123mm, which even though adds to the appeal of the Bobber, will make it a problem for many to tackle large speed breakers. Kerb weight has gone up by 1kg on the Bobber when compared to the standard Scout, which weighs 254kg.

The Indian Scout Bobber will only get a single seat as standard fitment from the factory, but the company has offered a pillion seat with backrest, as an accessory. Other accessories on offer also include slip-on exhausts that enhance throttle response, as claimed by the company, and weather resistant saddle bags. Once launched, at Rs 13,95,000 (ex-showroom, pan India), the Scout Bobber will be available in five colours – black, grey, silver, red and matte black. As far as rivals are concerned, the Indian Scout Bobber will directly lock horns with the Moto Guzzi V9 Bobber. Even though the Triumph Bonneville Bobber falls in the same segment, it isn’t a direct rival since it’s priced much more competitively at Rs 9,32,000 (ex-showroom, pan India).
