India’s First Lamborghini Urus Finds A Home In Mumbai

Mumbai has become the new home for India's first Lamborghini Urus. Launched in January this year at Rs 3.10 crore (ex-showroom India), it has taken eight months for the first SUV to arrive on our shores. This is due to the huge demand for it in other markets. Finished in Rosso Anteros (red), this particular unit gets 22-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. The Urus is pegged to be the most practical Lamborghini for Indian roads. Here’s why.

Running a first-ever turbocharged petrol engine for a Lamborghini, the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 develops 650PS of maximum power and 850Nm of torque. It comes paired to an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission and a permanent AWD system. With this hardware, the Urus does 0-100kmph in 3.6 seconds and has a top speed of 305kmph.

On the practicality front, the Urus packs an impressive 616-litre boot. And the new ANIMA (Adaptive Network Intelligence Management) drive mode selector gets more options, including Sabbia (sand), Terra (gravel), Neve (snow) and Ego (fully customisable), in addition to the usual Strada, Sport and Corsa modes. The Urus shares its platform with the Audi Q7, Bentley Bentayga and the Porsche Cayenne. However, to set it apart from the rest, Lamborghini has equipped it with a 48V adaptive damping system and rear-wheel steering. Rivalling the Urus are the Bentley Bentayga and Range Rover Sport SVR.
