For those considering the Isuzu mu-X SUV before its expected BS6 upgrade and price hike in 2020, you might not want to wait too long. The carmaker is now offering a 3 year/50,000km extension to the standard 5-year/150,000km warranty. What’s more, there’s a free maintenance plan on offer as well. This would make the warranty period last a whooping 8 year/200,000km. And the best part is that you won’t have to pay any additional cost to avail of it.
The warranty plan also includes free periodic maintenance that covers preventive maintenance schedule (PMS) parts, lubricants and related labour costs. However it does not cover areas related to wear and tear and accident damage repairs. This offer is available till 31 December 2019.
The mu-X received an update back in October 2018 and is currently priced between Rs 27.35 lakh and Rs 29.32 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Feature highlights include bi-LED projector headlamps, LED DRLs, 18-inch alloy wheels, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system and six airbags. It is powered by a 3.0-litre diesel engine that develops 177PS and 380Nm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox and is available in rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations. Rivals include the Mahindra Alturas G4, Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour.
