The British automotive marque will begin its Indian ops with three supercars!

ZW-McLaren

It’s officially confirmed. McLaren will be setting foot into India soon and will be setting up its own set of retail outlets. McLaren’s configurator now shows ‘India’ in its list of countries and the British automotive marque should begin accepting orders soon. Until now, McLaren cars are being brought to India as private imports.

Reports suggest the British carmaker will be opening its first outlet in Mumbai. According to the configurator, it looks like McLaren is planning to launch three models in the country, including the 720S Coupe and Spider, Artura hybrid supercar, and the McLaren GT. Here’s a brief overview of all three models:

McLaren Artura

The Artura intends to save the environment as it is McLaren’s first-ever hybrid supercar. It pairs a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol engine and an electric motor to develop a whopping 680PS and 750Nm. Naught to 100kmph comes up in three seconds dead and the Artura maxes out at an eye watering 330kmph. Also, when you want to tone things down, you can shut down the petrol engine and drive it in a pure EV model for 30km. Read more about the Artura here

McLaren 720S

If you prefer something a bit more ruthless, you should set your eyes on the 720S. It comes with a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine belting out an insane 720PS and 770Nm. Pedal to the metal, it does 0-100kmph just a shade under 3 seconds and maxes out at 341kmph. The 720S will be offered in India either as a coupe or a convertible. Check out the 720S right here

The McLaren GT infuses the comfort of a grand tourer and the looks of a sports car. It comes with 720S’ 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine, but detuned to develop a still insane 620PS and 630Nm. It does 0-100kmph in 3.1 seconds and has a top speed of 326kmph. Yes, performance is satisfactory, but GT cars are more for cruising rather than outright performance. Check it out in detail here

These are the three McLarens that will be hitting our roads real soon. Which one are you eagerly waiting for? Meanwhile, if you want to see how rivals like Ferrari and Lamborghini sales numbers are in India in the last financial year, click here to read our report.
