India Kawasaki Motors has bumped up the price of the locally-assembled Ninja ZX-10RR by Rs 88,000. The litre-class superbike is now priced at Rs 16.98 lakh (ex-showroom). The Ninja ZX-10R, on the other hand, continues to be priced at Rs 12.8 lakh. Some of you may recall that the two bikes received a huge price cut recently after Kawasaki decided to assemble the bikes at its plant in Pune. As a result, the ZX-10R became the most-affordable litre-class superbike in the country.
However, it also mentioned that the revised prices were valid only until the end of July and that the prices of both bikes will get significantly higher after this period. Hence, the recent price hike doesn’t surprise at all.
Currently, the Ninja ZX-10R is offered with the Kawasaki Racing Team (KRT) livery with subtle body graphics, while the ZX-10RR is available with an all-black colour scheme.
Both bikes share the same 998cc liquid-cooled, inline-four engine that produces 200PS of power at 13,000rpm and 113.5Nm of torque at 11,500rpm. The ZX-10R features three power modes, launch control, ABS, five levels of traction control, a quick shifter, a Bosch inertial measurement unit (IMU) and Kawasaki's corner management function (KCMF).
The ZX-10RR, on the other hand, packs a fully-adjustable 43mm Showa balance free front fork and a horizontal back-link, BFRC lite gas-charged monoshock and specially-designed Marschini 7-spoke multi-directional forged aluminium wheels over the ZX-10R. Additionally, the ZX-10RR also gets carbon-coated tappets, a stronger crankcase, a premium Brembo M50 aluminium monoblock four-piston calipers and better aerodynamics too.
Priced at Rs 12.8 lakh, the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R comes across as a great alternative to the Honda CBR1000RR, which was earlier the most affordable litre-class superbike with a price tag of Rs 16.80 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Despite the price hike, the ZX-10RR still makes for great value over the Honda CBR1000RR SP edition, which is priced at Rs 21.22 lakh (ex-Delhi). Other competitors include the Yamaha YZF-R1 (Rs 18.16 lakh), BMW S1000RR Pro (Rs 20.75 lakh), Suzuki GSX1000R (Rs 19.8 lakhs), Aprilia RSV4-RF (Rs 24.99 lakh) and the Ducati Panigale V4 S (Rs 25.29 lakh).
