The Kawasaki W800 Street is a retro bike and is inspired by the Kawasaki W1. It was the bike that set the tone for Kawasaki’s high-performance models which followed, such as the Z1. The W800 gets a simple twin-pod analogue instrument console for that retro charm. Even the motor is an old-school inspired 773 air-cooled parallel twin unit. It delivers a modest 47PS and 62.9Nm of torque. The 5-speed gearbox gets a slip and assist clutch as well. The bike has 18-inch aluminium spoke wheels and narrow section 100/90-18 front and 130/80-18 rear tyres. Braking is via a single 320mm disc and 270mm rear disc. It gets a dual-channel ABS as standard.

In case you are wondering why the price for a retro roadster with a simple engine construction and mechanicals is so high; the reason is it being brought to India from Japan in semi-knocked down kits. The bike will be assembled here at Kawasaki’s Chakan plant.
