Last year at the Tokyo Motor Show, Kawasaki was the only bike maker that brought something exciting with it. It was the quarter-litre, 4-cylinder track tamer, Ninja ZX-25R that stole the limelight among the 2020 models and the supercharged ZH2. The ZX-25R is not a concept or a one-off motorcycle, it is the real deal. In fact, Kawasaki has already started bookings for the ZX-25R in Indonesia, where it could be priced around Rs 3.78 lakh.
There’s still some time left for Kawasaki to deliver the motorcycles, but in the meantime, the bike maker has shared a small clip of the ZX-25R on a track. It’s a small 1 minute 25 second video, but if you want, you can skip directly to the 40-second mark to hear the ZX-25R howl on a race track. The video also shows the pocket rocket redlining at a whopping 17,000rpm at a top speed of 162kmph!
This high-revving 250cc 4-cylinder motor is expected to make around 60PS of power! That’s more than the Ninja 400. Moreover, it could be the most feature-packed 250cc motorcycle right now. It gets a separate function upside-down front fork just like you see on the ZX-6R. It also comes with power modes, traction control, and a quickshifter!
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R makes perfect sense for the Indonesian market as there’s quite a big gap between the Ninja 300 and the Ninja 650. However, considering its high price tag, we don’t expect it to be launched in India anytime soon.
