Kia brought a host of models to the now-concluded Auto Expo 2020. One of them was the new top-spec Hi-Limousine variant of the recently launched Carnival MPV. It gets an integrated roof box and other premium features. Now, we believe Kia might launch this new top-spec variant in India as it was also spied testing on our roads.
The Carnival is powered by a 2.2-litre CRDI engine pushing out 200PS and 440Nm. Transmission duties are taken care of by an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The Carnival is available in three variants as of now: Premium, Prestige and Limousine. The latter is currently the range-topping 7-seater version with VIP seats for the middle row. The Hi-Limousine variant that you see here takes the game a notch up.
Although it looks like an roof box, it is actually an integrated design, which opens up headroom inside the cabin. Further, it also improves the experience for the occupants by adding a central infotainment screen and roof-mounted lighting. Kia has also added ventilated cupholders in the front armrest console.
These are the changes in the new variant, while it also carries over all the highlights from the current Limousine variant. Some standout features are UVO connected car tech, Harman/Kardon premium 8-speaker sound system, 10-way power driver seat, driver seat ventilation, wireless charger, and smartwatch connectivity.
The Carnival is priced from Rs 24.95 lakh for the Prestige 7-seater to Rs 33.95 lakh for the Limousine 7-seater. The Carnival is also available as a 7/8/9-seater! If the new variant goes up on sale, expect it to be priced close to Rs 35 lakh (ex-showroom India).
