Kia’s flagship MPV, the Carnival, has become affordable this month, with the carmaker introducing huge cash discounts valid until July 31, 2021. The discount amounts to Rs 2.5 lakh for the Prestige and Limousine variants, with the base-spec Premium variant getting the highest cash discount of Rs 3.75 lakh. Here’s how it affects the Carnival’s pricing:
Variant |
Current Prices |
Discounted Prices (For July 2021) |
Premium 7-seater |
Rs 24.95 lakh |
Rs 21.20 lakh |
Premium 8-seater |
Rs 25.15 lakh |
Rs 21.40 lakh |
Prestige 7-seater |
Rs 28.95 lakh |
Rs 26.45 lakh |
Prestige 9-seater |
Rs 29.95 lakh |
Rs 27.45 lakh |
Limousine 7-seater |
Rs 33.95 lakh |
Rs 31.45 lakh |
All prices, ex-showroom
With these discounts, the Kia Carnival now retails from Rs 21.20 lakh to Rs 31.45 lakh. What’s more, these prices bring the Carnival much closer to the higher-end diesel variants of the Toyota Innova Crysta (diesel compared because the Carnival is only offered with a diesel mill). For reference, the base Premium variants are more affordable than the second-top top VX manual Innova Crysta that retails at Rs 21.85 lakh (7-seater) and Rs 21.90 lakh (8-seater). But do keep in mind that once we go higher up the Carnival’s variant lineup, it retails at a premium over the Toyota Innova Crysta.
The Carnival gets several standout features, including Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, tri-zone climate control, UVO connected car tech, 10.1-inch dual touchscreen rear seat entertainment system, Harman/Kardon premium 8-speaker sound system, 10-way power driver seat, wireless charger, and smartwatch connectivity. Passenger safety is covered by six airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, and electronic stability control.
The MPV is powered by a 2.2-litre diesel engine that drives 200PS of grunt and 440Nm of twist towards its front wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Aside from these benefits, the Kia Carnival is also being offered with a ‘Satisfaction Guarantee Scheme’, wherein customers can return the MPV within 30 days of purchase if they aren’t satisfied with the vehicle and recover 95 percent of the ex-showroom cost. If you’re still on the fence about whether you should consider purchasing the Carnival over the Innova Crysta, our detailed first drive review might help.
