Kia Motors India is all set to launch the Carnival MPV on February 5 as per sources. The Carnival is Kia’s second launch for India after the successful Seltos mid-size SUV. The Korean manufacturer has already teased the India-spec MPV ahead of its launch via YouTube. It’s expected to be price between Rs 27 lakh and Rs 36 lakh (on-road).
In terms of styling, the front end comes with Kia’s trademark ‘Tiger Nose’ grille flanked by projector headlamps and large ‘Ice Cube’ LED fog lamps. At the side, design elements include dual-tone alloy wheels, flared wheel arches and a prominent shoulder line that runs through the profile. Moving on to the rear, the MPV comes with split LED tail lamps and a thin chrome strip above the number plate housing.
The India-spec Kia Carnival has been teased in its 6-seater layout with captain seats for the middle row occupants. We also expect Kia to offer a 7-seater/8-seater option as well.

Inside, the Carnival MPV comes with a minimalistic dashboard with plenty of premium features. Highlights include electric sliding rear doors, a touchscreen infotainment, dual-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, cruise control, a multi-info display, and rear seat entertainment screens. Other expected features include Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as well as UVO connected car technology.
Under the hood, the Kia Carnival will be powered by a 2.2-litre CRDI diesel engine that develops 202PS of power and 440Nm of torque. This engine drives the front wheels and is likely to be offered with a 6-speed manual and an 8-speed automatic gearbox. Expect this powertrain to be a BS6 compliant unit right from launch.
The Carnival MPV will slot above the Innova Crysta in India. That said, expect the Innova’s price (currently priced from Rs 15.13 lakh) to inch closer to the Carnival as it’s set to get the BS6 update soon.
