Kia officially unveiled its long-awaited Seltos at a special event in Delhi, India. It is pitched as a premium compact SUV and will rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks, Renault Captur, MG Hector and the Tata Harrier in the Indian market. While we did get a chance to see the Seltos up close at the unveil, Kia had its interiors under wraps then. Now, though, we finally have a peek into the Seltos’ cabin. Pictured here are the interiors of the top spec GT line that will get just the 1.4-litre Turbo GDI petrol motor. Here’s how the premium SUV looks from the inside.
First glimpses of its interiors show a lounge-like and spacious cabin inside the Seltos. The dashboard gets a leatherette padding with visible stitching in brown. The Seltos will come with three interior colour options in Korea: black, burgundy, and brown. The Kia Seltos also gets interesting creature comforts like ventilated seats, air purifier, automatic climate control, and more.
The Kia Seltos is filled to the brim with a host of premium features like a floating 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system that contains a navigation system along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
In addition, the Seltos also gets its own connected tech system similar to the Hyundai Venue, called UVO Connect. This system works by using its own embedded SIM card to retrieve and update live data while driving drive, such as traffic information, weather forecasts and points of interest. The second part of the UVO system is the UVO App. It is designed for compatibility with Android and Apple smartphones. The app offers a range of features like diagnostic data about their car, the trips they take and more.
A segment-first 8.0-inch Head-Up Display system is also present on the Seltos. It projects relevant driving information onto a small glass panel behind the steering wheel. Information like turn-by-turn navigation directions and vehicle speed information is displayed on the HUD.
Another interesting highlight of the Seltos is that it comes with a premium 8-speaker Bose sound system alongside an optional Sound Mood Lighting system. It emits soft light from panels in the doors and includes a unique 3D-patterned surface on the door panels. This system pulses in tune to the beat of music playing through the audio system, with eight customizable colors and six themes illuminating the cabin.
Aside from that, the Kia Seltos gets various safety features and driver assists like six airbags, ABS, ESC, vehicle stability management (VSM), front and rear parking sensors, traction control, brake-assist system as well as hill start assist control. Other features include autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist, driver attention warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and navigation-based adaptive cruise control.
The Seltos is expected to be launched in India on August 22. The India-spec Seltos will also be exported to the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, and Asia. Kia will start off its operations in the country with 260 touch points across 160 cities in India. Once launched, the Seltos is expected to be priced somewhere between Rs 10 lakh to Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom pan-India).
