Kia Seltos Finally Makes Its Official Debut In India

• Kia has aggressively priced the Seltos from Rs 9.69 lakh to Rs 15.99 lakh.
• The Seltos will be available in two trim options: GT Line and Tech Line.
• It is longer and wider than the Hyundai Creta.
• The pricing undercuts most of the competition in the compact SUV space.

Garnering a lot of attention and over 30,000 bookings in just five weeks, the Seltos is in our opinion the most anticipated SUV of this year. Now, Kia has officially launched the Seltos in India with prices starting at an impressive Rs 9.69 lakh and going all the way up till Rs 15.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Kia also announced that it will start the deliveries from today.

Pricing And Variants:

On offer are eight variants which are based on two trim options : GT Line and Tech Line. The Tech Line can be had with the 1.5-litre diesel and naturally aspirated petrol units:

• HT E
• HT K
• HT K Plus
• HT X
• HT X Plus

On the other hand, the GT Line can be had with the 1.4-litre T-GDI petrol. Kia will also launch the 1.5-diesel-automatic in the GT Line trim, but we'll have to wait a bit more for the official announcement and prices.

Engine And Transmission:

Three BS6-compliant engines on offer:  1.4-litre T-GDI, 1.5-litre Petrol and 1.5-litre CRDI, mated to four gearbox options: 6MT, 7-DCT, 6AT and CVT. 

Features: 

Some of the Seltos’ notable features include a Bose 8-speaker sound system, a sunroof, 360 degree camera, driving rearview mirror, blind view monitor, ventilated front seats, 8-way powered drivers seats, sound mood lighting and front and rear parking sensors. It also gets  a smart 8.0-inch head-up display, a 7-inch colour display panel, a 10.25-inch infotainment system with UVO Connect, wireless charging, smart air purifier, and drive modes. Safety additions include six airbags, traction control, hill assist, brake assist, ESP (Electronic Stability Program), VSM (Vehicle Stability Management), and TPMS ( Tyre Pressure Monitoring System). The Seltos also comes with 3 year/unlimited km warranty which can also be extended by 2 years. Also offered is 3-year free road-side assistance.

We can surely say that Kia is off to a flying start with the Seltos that seems to have struck a balance in our market. The highly competitive segment comprised of the Hyundai Creta, Tata Harrier, MG Hector and the Mahindra XUV500 is anything but easy to crack.
