Kia Seltos Finally Makes Its Official Debut In India

Kia has officially commenced production of its first product for India, the Seltos. At the ceremony which witnessed the first ever Seltos roll out from the assembly line, Kia also announced that the SUV has racked up 23,311 bookings within a time span of three weeks. Kia also confirmed that it will launch the Carnival premium MPV in the latter half of 2020.
Kia’s manufacturing facility in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh has an annual capacity of 3 lakh vehicles along with the provision for manufacturing hybrid and electric vehicles. The plant is also advanced with respect to automation as it features the integration of robotics and artificial intelligence.
Tech Line and GT Line are the two main trim options the Seltos will be available in. These trim lines are further split into eight variants. The Tech Line trim makes use of the BS6-compliant 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines that are good for 115PS. The 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol unit, which puts out 140PS and 242Nm of torque, is only offered with the GT Line. The Seltos is offered with a choice of four transmission options. These include a 6-speed manual, a 7-speed torque converter, CVT and a 7-speed DCT. The SUV comes packed with some notable feature like a premium Bose sound system, a sunroof, ventilated seats, a 360-degree camera, UVO Connect and a whole lot more.
The Seltos will be launched on 22 August 2019 and Kia is currently accepting bookings through its dealerships and its official website. Kia says that the SUVs will be delivered to customers without any delay thanks to its plants production capacity of 3 lakh units per year. While test drives have begun, deliveries will commence starting August 22.
