  • New all-electric concept to debut on March 5 at Geneva Motor Show.
  • Could spawn next generation of all-electric vehicles from Kia.
  • Could showcase Kia’s long-range and performance capabilities.

Another day, another set of teaser images of an electric concept. This time it’s Kia which has released a sketch of its upcoming all-electric concept that’s set to be unveiled at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show. With this announcement Kia joins the likes of Skoda, Mercedes-Benz, Aston Martin and Audi that are set to showcase their own electric concepts at Geneva.

Being developed by the Korean carmaker keeping the European market in mind, the all-electric concept will help Kia spawn a whole new generation of EVs to take on the likes of Tesla. So far though, there is very limited information available about what the new concept brings to the table apart from the lone image released by Kia.

From the looks of it, the concept seems to get sports car styling with a chunky bonnet and a futuristic front grille, which is also illuminated. There is also an all-new Kia logo up front which hints to the next generation design of EVs from the carmaker. It’s also got unique, slim headlamps that give it a very Tron-like neon look. The teaser also hints at sleek side view cameras in place of ORVMs, which is a pretty common feature on most electric concepts these days.

Apart from these, no other details about the powertrain and range of the concept have been revealed yet. But Kia has hinted that the concept could pack in a formidable combination of good range and power.

Gregory Guillaume, vice-president of design for Kia Motors Europe, said, “We imagined designing an all-electric car that not only answered consumer concerns around range, performance, recharging networks and driving dynamism, but one that also gave you goosebumps when you looked at it, and made the hairs on the back of your neck stand up when you drove it.”

We will have more details on the all new concept on March 5, when the Geneva Motor Show opens its doors to world media. So stay tuned.
