Bajaj Auto has confirmed that it would be hiking the price of its naked performance bike, the KTM 390 Duke by Rs 6,000. This shouldn’t come as a surprise since at the time of the bikes launch back in June priced at Rs 1.8lakh (ex-showroom Pune), KTM had said that it was an introductory pricing and it would be hiking it eventually. KTM had followed the same policy with the 200 Duke as it had also hiked its price within a year of its launch.
The 390 Duke has been welcomed warmly by two-wheeler enthusiasts across the country as they were able to access decent power figures without shelling out a fortune to relish the performance. The 390 Duke is powered by a 373.2cc, liquid cooled mill producing 43.5PS of power and 35Nm of torque which is mated to a six-speed transmission.
The bike tips the scale at just 139kg, which endows it with an incredible power-to-weight ratio of 313PS/Ton which is the key to its amazing performance. Even with this hike of Rs 6,000 the 390 Duke still remains a value for money proposition as it has the performance of bikes which are priced twice or more along with features like standard ABS and we feel sales of the bike wouldn’t get affected much.
