After launching two models of the Huracan last year - the AWD Spyder and the Avio special edition, Lamborghini will further extend the Huracan lineup this year, starting with the RWD Spyder. This will be the fifth model in the Huracan range in India and will be launched on February 1. As of now, there are four variants of the baby Lambo in the country - Avio, AWD Spyder, AWD Coupe (LP610-4) and RWD Coupe (LP580-2). Prices for the Huracan start from Rs 2.99 crore for the LP 580 2 and go all the way up to Rs 3.89 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the AWD Spyder.

As the RWD Spyder is essentially a topless variant of the RWD Coupe, the drivetrain remains the same. It has a 5.2-litre V10 sitting right behind the driver and producing 580PS of power and 540Nm of torque. And with this power going to the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, the RWD Spyder takes just 3.6 seconds to reach triple digits and goes all the way up to 319kmph. The RWD coupe, on the other hand, though has identical power figures, but is 0.2 seconds faster to 100kmph. The Adaptive Network Intelligent Management, or ANIMA on the RWD Spyder, lets you select between three driving modes - Strada, Sport and Corsa, each sportier than its predecessor.

Coming to the changes in this car as compared to the coupe, the electronically operated fabric roof has audio insulation and takes 17 seconds to fold/unfold, up to a speed of 50kmph. Other changes include redesigned front and rear bumpers to accommodate larger air intake areas which help direct cooling and increase downforce on the front axle, and 19-inch alloys wrapped in Pirelli PZero tyres.

Expect the RWD Spyder to be priced somewhere around the Rs 3.5 crore mark. This topless Italian beauty will compete with the likes of the Ferrari California T and the Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet in the country.
