Scaled down considerably under the hood from its predecessor, the Lamborghini Huracan LP580-2 was recently unveiled ahead of its debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

To distinguish from its four-wheel drive counterpart, this new variant from the Italian carmaker comes with new front bumpers for larger air intake, while a new rear diffuser comes in to improve the airflow from the rear. The new Huracan is also equipped with Pirelli PZero tires customized especially for its design.
The powertrain is where the major changes have been made to this model. A detuned 5.2-litre V10 engine returns a power of 580 horses with 540 Nm of torque. Mated with a Lamborghini Doppia Drizione 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission, the car is tuned for faster shifts.

Speaking of performance, a retuned suspension, electronic power steering, Lamborgini Plattaforma Interziale, Magneto Rheological suspension and stability control systems have been assembled to assist the rear-wheel drive.

The weight of the vehicle goes down by 33 kg from the four-wheel drive. However, it doesn’t enhance the acceleration - 0-100 kmph in 3.4 seconds - that is much slower than the LP610-4. The top speed of the LP580-2 touches 320 kmph. It returns 8.4 km to a litre of fuel with a carbon dioxide emission of 278 g/km.

On the inside, the new Huracan gets all the equipment that was installed in the regular one including the Lamborghini personalisation programme Ad Personam. The latest Lamborghini infotainment system comes with a 12.3-inch high resolution TFT instrument panel.

The rear-wheel drive is priced at 150,000 Euros, which is significantly lower when compared to its AWD sibling. Globally, the car is available in AWD Coupe, AWD Spider and the RWD Coupe variants. You can find only the AWD Coupe in India, which is priced at INR 3.43 crore (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
