In an official ceremony in the presence of media delegates and customers, Lamborghini took the wraps off the Huracan GT3 at its headquarters in Sant'Agata Bolognese. The Italian marquee has already debuted the new Huracan LP620-2 Super Trofeo that will be seen in the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo, and now the company has also presented the Huracan GT3 that is set to compete in the Blancpain Endurance Series this year.

The Huracan GT3 is based on a Alu-Carbon chassis and comes equipped with a FIA certified roll-cage. The sub-frame too has been fiddled with to make space for a larger high performance water radiator at the front and for better positioning of the gearbox at the rear. Developed in collaboration with Dallara Engineering, the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 weighs 1,239kg with a 42-58 weight distribution. Changes have been made to the insides as well with a special focus on safety. The Lamborghini Huracan GT3 comes equipped with a carbon frame 8862 specification seat and an OMP fire extinguishing system. The Raging Bull brand has also installed an innovative roof hatch which enables quick medical assistance through the roof of a car in the advent of a crash.

Aside from these changes, the Huracan GT3 gets a scooped up version of the standard car’s 5.2-litre V10 unit. For its racing endeavours, the Huracan GT3 will come mated to a six-speed sequential gearbox with a three-disc racing clutch.

The Lamborghini Huracan GT3 will be seen participating in all the five venues in the European leg of the Blancpain Endurance Series 2015.
