Teased image reveals a covered model featuring a wedge-shaped silhouette.
It could be powered by a hybridised V12 engine like the Sián hypercar.
Unveiling likely soon.
Well, ain’t this a bombshell from Lamborghini to look forward to. Remember the legendary Countach that pioneered supercar folklore 50 years ago? Well, the folks from Santa Bolognese are officially bringing the nameplate back! The carmaker has also released a teaser image of the new machine which has us buzzing with questions.
While the image Lamborghini has shared showcases the new Countach completely camouflaged, you’ll notice a wedge-shaped silhouette. There’s also no rear wing in what is a hark back to the original Countach LP400 from the early-70s.
What will power the new Countach? Well, it's not going to be the Countach LP5000 Quattrovalvole 420PS 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine. Lamborghini has already confirmed the Aventador Ultimae would have the last pure V12 motor but the carmaker earlier mentioned the V12 will live on in hybridised form. So the new Countach could get a V12 engine with a 48-volt mild-hybrid setup like the Sián hypercar.
The big question is whether the model teased is a production-spec car or a concept? Also, don’t expect it to be the successor to the Aventador considering the final iteration of the Aventador was revealed just a month ago. We’re yet to find out when the new Countach will be unveiled, but it could happen anytime now.
