A new trademark filing registered in various countries suggests that Nissan may introduce a new logo in the coming days. Furthermore, the much-awaited 370Z replacement is also on it’s way as another trademark filing has unearthed the new ‘Z’ logo.
The existing Nissan logo is a simple one to begin with. But the upcoming logo is sleeker and more minimalistic. It features the ‘Nissan’ name along with two semicircles at the top and bottom. Unlike the current logo, the new one is a two-dimensional one with a Sans-like font.
Nissan seems to be treading down the same path as Volkswagen and BMW by making its logo flat and sleek. In all likelihood, the new logo will also signify the Japanese brand’s shift towards a cleaner design, especially with its future electric vehicles.
We got a sneak peek of the logo in the Nissan Ariya Concept from the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show. The Ariya is an electric crossover concept featuring autonomous tech. The SUV features four motors, one on each wheel. It is currently undergoing tests in Japan and it could make its global debut next year.
Although details are scarce, there could be a new Z car in the making. It's been some time since Nissan has been working on a replacement for the 370Z. First introduced in 1969, the Z series of sports cars has spawned some interesting cars like the 240Z, 280Z, 300ZX, 350Z, and the 370Z. The new Z car is expected to be called the 400Z and is likely to feature a bigger V6 engine.
