Just like how Ferrari tinkers with their road-going models and develop track-focused cars, MV Agusta has done the same thing. Meet the MV Agusta F3XX, a light-weight track monster. Based on the F3 800, the F3XX has been developed by MV Agusta’s racing division, Reparto Corse.
It seems like the engineers were given two points to work on during their brief: keep it light and extract as much power as possible. The F3XX weighs 28kg less than the standard model, which tips the scales at 173kg (dry). To make sure it’s light on its feet, a significant amount of components are made from carbon fibre.
MV Agusta’s racing department has made a lot of mechanical changes to set the F3XX apart from the standard model. Starting with the engine, the ECU has been remapped, the valves are made from titanium and thanks to some retuning, the power has been bumped from 148PS to 160PS! It features a limited slip clutch and a custom-made SC Project exhaust.
The standard LCD display has been replaced with an AiM MXS1.2 dashboard, which shows almost all the technical details one could imagine. It comes with sensors that not only record your lap times but also measure your throttle movement and braking pressure.
MV Agusta hasn’t revealed the price of the F3XX yet. But it’s a limited-edition, hand-built Italian exotic, so expect it to cost a lot more than the standard model, which retails at Rs 17 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
