The 110 cc commuter segment has just received an all-new entry with Mahindra launching the Centuro. Slotted above the recently launched Pantero, the Centuro aims to woo buyers with a host of features which have never been experienced on a production motorcycle. The Centuro is protected against theft by a Central Locking Anti Theft System with Engine Immobiliser and a Remote 96-bit encrypted Flip Key, a first in Indian motorcycling that gives unique secure access to the motorcycle. There is also the Find-Me Lamps that help to easily locate the motorcycle even in a crowded parking lot while Guide Lamps continue to illuminate even as you walk away after parking the bike to light up the way for you.
Apart from the list of features, the Centuro sports an extremely competent 110 cc MCi-5 engine which puts out 8.5 bhp @ 7500rpm and 8.5Nm @ 5500rpm and aims to offer best-in-class acceleration but also best in class efficiency. The bike also sports a fully digital console with an in-built, programmed Service Indicator and Distance- to-Empty Fuel calculator which make sure you are never left stranded (Read : Mahindra Centuro First Ride).
At Rs. 45,000, the Centuro is all set to go up against the Hero Passion Pro which starts at Rs. 45,850 for the spoke/kick Variant and the Honda Dream Yuga with starts at Rs. 45,101. Considering all the features the Centuro packs in, it definitely offers the most value here and in case you are amongst the first 10,000 to book it, you get the bike at an even more attractive Rs. 44,000 price tag. Now we already liked the bike during its first ride in the Himalayas and this attractive price tag is just the icing on the cake. Mahindra is definitely looking good to establish itself as a major two wheeler manufacturer and the Centuro looks like a start of good things from Mahindra.
